The fastest-growing adrenalin sport in Europe, padel tennis, is coming to Sydney. For two weeks, the World Padel Club will host a pop-up padel court at the Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park.
Have no idea what Padel Tennis is? Think tennis, an enclosed court half the size and usually played in doubles. If you’re still not sure, 100 complimentary lessons are available to teach the basics, so sign up quickly.
Or, if you’re an effortless athlete, Padel legend Henri Leconte will be around for a game on January 13. He’ll also have a few Padel battles with professionals, so you can see how its done.
If sport isn’t exactly your forté, The Sydney Padel Clubhouse will open February 6, decked out with a garden designed by Giddi Up, which recently created The Grounds Of Alexandria pop-up at Sculptures by The Sea. A full bar with nibbles, Pimms, champagne, regular events and weekend DJs will make the Padel Clubhouse and garden a welcoming vantage spot post padel match.
Demo court opens Sunday January 10, 8am to 10pm.
